Recently, Heather Thomas, who serves as the Director of Global Programs and Deputy General Manager at UOW College Australia, made a visit to the joint institute of the University of Wollongong (UOW) and Central China Normal University (CCNU) located in Wuhan, China.
This visit highlighted the English for Tertiary Studies International Program, a joint initiative developed to strengthen the partnership between the two universities. Heather expressed her pleasure in witnessing CCNU's proud display of the NEAS Quality Endorsement for this program, noting, “It was delightful to visit our trusted partners and observe CCNU proudly showcasing the NEAS Quality Endorsement of the program.”
Originating from the English for Tertiary Studies Program derived from the UOW College Australia campus offering direct entry to UOW’s undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The program delivered offshore, operational since 2018, is a collaborative effort by senior experts from the UOW-CCNU Joint Institute, UOW, and UOW College Australia.
In May 2022, UOW College Australia achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first NEAS Centre to receive the Quality Endorsement in the Transnational Delivery category. This followed the successful completion of a special pilot initiative by NEAS under its new Area M, focusing on the Quality Endorsement of Transnational Delivery, specifically for the ETS International Program.
This program stands as a testament to the collaborative efforts between UOW and CCNU, aiming to provide top-tier educational experiences to students across borders. The success of the English for Tertiary Studies International Program illustrates the strength of the international educational partnership between UOW College Australia and CCNU.
