UOW College is proud to announce that the UOW College Homestay Program has received NEAS Quality Endorsement, recognising our dedication and commitment to providing high-quality services to both our students and local hosts.
"Receiving the NEAS Quality Endorsement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team," says Heather Thomas, Deputy General Manager and Director Global Programs, UOW College Australia. "It reaffirms our commitment to delivering a quality homestay experience for our students and hosts, that is delivered by a team of passionate staff."
"Creating a safe and comfortable living environment are such important features of our Homestay Program," Heather emphasises. "Through strong support systems and training programs for host families, we have strong standards focused on background checks, including working with children's checks for hosts, accommodation inspection and inductions. We also prioritise hosts who are deeply passionate about the hosting experience."
Specifically, this recognition validates that our governance and management practices meet NEAS standards, providing a solid foundation for the program's operations.
"Our hosts are integral to the success of our homestay program.," says Felix Lanceley, General Manager at UOW College Australia. "Their ongoing support and dedication to providing a welcoming environment for our international students have contributed immensely to this achievement."
Reading stories from long-term hosts like Jan and Robert Thomas and Alison Blakey serves as a powerful reminder of the benefits experienced by both hosts and households alike.
"Congratulations to everyone involved, and in particular, Alison Blakey, who led the project with passion and commitment," said Mr Lanceley.
