Dual specialisation – Ageing & Disability
Our individual support program will equip you with the knowledge and skills required to support people in a community and/or residential setting due to ageing, disability or some other reason. This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to a disability. Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.
Pathway to higher level study: Upon completion you will be eligible to apply to the study the CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support or the HLT54121 Diploma of Nursing.

Career opportunities: Disability Carer, Aged Care Worker, Individual Carer and Support Worker, Assistant in Nursing, Community Care Worker or Assistant, Residential Support Worker, Personal Care Giver, Home Respite Care Worker.
Specific course requirements: Students will need to complete a UOW College basic literacy and numeracy online assessment with results of level two or higher.
