Traineeships essential information

Training study plans

The structured theoretical component, including the information you will learn in your study units, will be delivered by expert trainers via online sessions or classes held on campus.

Trainees, also known as students, are equipped with a formal training plan detailing the essential training requirements that must be undertaken.

Our dedicated trainers and assessors, will have regular communication with trainees, offering continuous support via online platforms, email or phone for a supportive learning environment.

On the job learning

Simultaneously, the practical component of the traineeship is delivered through hands-on experience with an employer. This is also supported through UOW College trainers who will undertake regular visits to the workplace.

UOW College delivers progress reports to the employer, ensuring satisfaction and alignment of both parties with the traineeship's progression.

Study outside UOW College's standard locations – either closer to home or at your workplace. During the application process, we will discuss training delivery options for your unique needs, considering qualification type, location, and employer preferences.

To be eligible for a traineeship a student must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Have worked in the relevant field for less than 3 months full-time or 12 months part-time with their current employer.

All traineeships are subsidised under NSW Smart and Skilled funding; however, this may vary depending on the availability of funding.
